We specialize in takeout and catering, making it easier than ever to enjoy the bold, vibrant tastes of New Orleans in a fresh and portable way.

Our story

Our story began with Chef Michael Brown, who trained under two legends of Cajun/Creole cuisine—Chef Leah Chase of Dooky Chase and Chef Austin Leslie of Chez Helene—in the late 1980s. Together with his wife, Adrienne Brown, they opened Michael’s BackStreet Café in New Jersey in 1989, earning rave reviews for their commitment to reducing the fat and sodium often found in traditional Cajun dishes, without sacrificing flavor.

In the early 90s, God gave Chef Michael a vision: to take his beloved recipes and serve more people at lower prices. This dream evolved into Jamburritos, a concept born from the chef’s fascination with the tortilla after moving to Arizona. By 2010, the first Jamburritos Cajun Grille food truck hit the streets, and now, in Texas, we’re opening our first brick-and-mortar location—Jamburritos@Broadway in Pearland.
